Postpartum Doula Toronto
In-Home Day & Night Support
What Is a Postpartum Doula and Who Is It For?
A postpartum doula is like the extra pair of hands you didn’t know you needed. They’re there to support you and your baby in those early days, whether it’s helping with diaper changes, soothing your baby, or offering tips on infant care.
Doulas also handle light household chores and give you the space to rest, shower, or take a break when you need it (and trust us, you’ll need it).
You aren’t yourself when you aren’t sleeping – we know all too well. An overnight doula can help you get some much-needed rest. She can soothe your baby back to sleep, take care of diaper changes, bottlefeeding (if you choose), and more. Having a night doula may very well be the best gift you can give yourself (or others can give to you)!
Whether it’s during the day or overnight, a doula helps make the transition to parenthood a little easier so you can focus on bonding with your baby.
You don’t have to do this alone – let’s talk
No pressure. Just a conversation about what you need.

Posted on AnastasiyaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I initially reached out to Anamav looking for a night time doula. My one year old wasn’t sleeping through the night and I was losing my mind. After connecting with Nancy, she suggested Anamav’s sleep consulting services may be a better fit for my needs, and be more cost effective. Karla was our sleep consultant and I can’t recommend her enough! She was very knowledgeable, empathetic, and genuinely wanted to support my family in getting better sleep. The basic package was reasonably priced compared to other apps and online sleep training programs I looked into. Karla prepared a schedule for us to follow and included feeding times. She also provided a week of support where we connected for a brief call every day and discussed how the previous night went as well as any other questions. With Karla’s help my daughter has significantly fewer night wakings, and has even slept through the night for the first time!Posted on KIRAN MTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Working with Nancy through Anamav was one of the best decisions I made as a first-time mom. She’s so warm, knowledgeable, and understanding — she helped me feel confident and supported through those overwhelming early months. Every new parent deserves this kind of care. Anamav truly gets what families need — not just the practical help, but the emotional support too. I’m so grateful and looking forward to more support from the team in the future!Posted on Sasha ZhuTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a very positive experience with Anamav. The team is well organized, and Nancy, the founder, is very approachable and always quick to respond whenever we had questions or concerns. It made the whole process feel so smooth and stress-free. Our doula was professional, experienced, and supportive. As first-time parents, we felt quite overwhelmed at the beginning, but she patiently taught us how to care for our baby, shared helpful tips and resources, and guided us through breastfeeding and other newborn care. She was always willing to help and made us feel more confident as new parents. We’re very grateful for the care and support from Anamav and would gladly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate doula team.Posted on Anisha NairTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Ruby, my postpartum doula, was incredibly warm and compassionate. Her presence, knowledge and support helped me better understand how to take care of my newborn, and also get some well-needed rest. I also appreciate Nancy's check-ins and the fact that I had flexibility to move my days around if needed. 10/10 recommend Anamav's services to any new mom!Posted on Vicky YuTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Absolutely, I truly appreciate the support received from Nancy and her team, especially under this surprising situation that baby coming almost one month earlier than we expected. Nancy was really responsive to make the arrangement regarding this urgent situation, which brought strong support to me when I was in labor. All the doulas I met were kind, professional, supportive and knowledgeable. They provided me with physical and mental support as a new mom. They not only care about the baby, but also my emotions. They guided me with a lot of useful information when taking care of the baby and breastfeeding the baby. I feel much more confident to take care of the baby on my own. They supported me with all the decisions I made, no matter if I want to breastfeed or bottle feed. My stress has been much released with doulas by side and I could catch much sleep. I would definitely highly recommend the postpartum doula service from Nancy's team.Posted on tanya vermaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I recently reached out to Nancy for a consult on her company’s postpartum doula services after reviewing her website, and I was genuinely impressed. The services offered are truly unmatched in the Greater Toronto Area-not only does her company provide comprehensive doula care, but they also prioritize mental health and emotional support for moms throughout their postpartum journey. I especially appreciate that Nancy built her company based on her own experiences as a mother who has faced postpartum challenges, which brings a unique level of empathy and understanding to her work. During my consult, Nancy was extremely personable, flexible, and patient. She took the time to answer all my questions and made me feel heard and supported. It’s clear she is deeply passionate about helping new mothers, and her approach is both professional and compassionate. What sets this company apart is the holistic care they provide. From practical newborn care and breastfeeding support to emotional reassurance and mental health resources, every aspect of the postpartum experience is thoughtfully addressed. The flexibility in scheduling and the willingness to tailor services to each family’s needs made me feel confident that I would be in good hands. I highly recommend Nancy and her team to any new parent looking for reliable, knowledgeable, and heartfelt postpartum support. Their dedication to empowering mothers and families truly makes a difference during such a transformative time.Posted on Eshita RoyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I really appreciated the services provided by Anamav. Tisa and Kashauna helped me gain confidence as a first time mom as well as provide support for my recovery from a c-section.Posted on alana kayfetzTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Incredible- as a mom of 4 kids, i haven’t ever had an experience post birth like This before! thanks so much for the amazing support during my first 3 weeks of postpartum recovery. From the lactation consultant to your doulas, i haven’t ever felt so taken care of. The day time doulas went above and beyond the call of duty able To predict my every need. This was especially important during my first few days after having my baby. The night time doulas were extremely helpful too! The 4 nights i had support helped me tremendously, having to only nurse my baby and then have the anamav team handle the rest. If you are looking for a gift for yourself or someone else you know, this is it! Five stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Frequently Asked Questions About Working with a Postpartum Doula
A postpartum doula can be a lifesaver in the early days, offering support, comfort, and helpful guidance. From newborn care like feeding, diaper changes, and soothing, to light housekeeping, meal prep, and emotional support, we’re here to be an extra set of hands.
Whether you’re breastfeeding or bottle-feeding, your nighttime doula can bring your baby or pump to you, handle diaper changes, clean bottles, and soothe your baby back to sleep. This way, you can get the rest you need, which is crucial for your mental well-being.
If your doula can’t make it due to illness or any other reason, we’ll do our best to send another amazing doula from our team so you still get the support you need. Of course, you’re welcome to reschedule with your original doula if you prefer.
We totally get that things come up! Rescheduling will depend on your doula’s availability and how much notice you give us. We’ll do our best to accommodate, and if we can’t, we’ll help you find another solution.
We recommend booking a few months before your due date—doulas tend to get booked up quickly! But if you’re already past your due date and need support, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’ll do our best to help you or connect you with someone who can.
Typically, we offer support in the first 3 months postpartum, which is when new parents often need the most help. If you feel you need more support beyond that, we’d be happy to discuss your options!
While we wish we could say yes, it depends on your plan. You’ll have to check with your provider. We can provide any documentation you need to support your claim!
We know it can feel overwhelming! Start by having a chat with your partner or family to figure out your support needs during the first few months. Think about what will help most—baby care, cooking, cleaning, or maybe nighttime help. We can always discuss further during our consultation!
Hiring through an agency gives you peace of mind with multiple benefits: (1) backup support in case your doula is unavailable, (2) assurance that all team members are thoroughly vetted, (3) the ability to voice any concerns to the agency, (4) the option to book multiple services at once, and (5) access to a team of doulas for more flexibility and support.
