Nancy

Hi, I’m Nancy – firstly, thank you for being here!  I am a mother of two little ones, and was inspired to create Anamav Postnatal Care due to my personal experiences after the birth of my first child.

Unfortunately, I suffered from postpartum psychosis (learn more about my story), and knowing the impact of a traumatic postpartum experience on a person and family, I am now determined to support new parents and help fill the gap in postpartum care in Canada. I am a Postpartum Doula, New Parent Educator, and have also completed my Canadian Perinatal Mental Health Certification.

I have volunteered for multiple non-profit organizations that specialize in perinatal mental health, and am currently serving as Treasurer of the Board for Postpartum Support International. I also actively support various community organizations and initiatives aimed at helping parents. I am a public speaker and enjoy connecting with and inspiring audiences (learn more about my speaking here). Lastly, I have been practicing as a Chartered Professional Accountant in the GTA for over 12 years and have a strong financial background.

I live in Vaughan with my husband and two kids, and in the little free time I have, I enjoy going on walks, dancing, training in Muay Thai, and planning trips!

Hi! I’m Jodi, a proud Mama of 3 children (now adults… but they’ll always be my babies!) I have a son and twin daughters. I am a certified Postpartum Doula with Doula Canada, an organization which offers an internationally recognized certification, preparing me to support you through all stages of your parenting journey.

I have an educational background in Early Childhood Education and Addictions Counselling, as well as a decade of experience as a Personal Support Worker (PSW). From this, I understand that every birth giver, parent, pregnancy, and child are unique. I will advocate, educate, and physically and emotionally support you through your journey.

My doula work is grounded in community care, dignity, respect, and equity for all birth givers. I focus on a holistic approach to wellness and healing past birth trauma.

I believe that you deserve to feel connected to your body and to be able to occupy the time and space you need to feel the spiritual and intellectual connection with your body.

Linda

I am a mother of two and a proud grandmother. I have an Honours bachelor’s degree in child development, a bachelor’s degree in education, and a Diploma in Early Childhood Education. I am currently employed with the Toronto District School Board as a teacher.

I am a mother of two and a proud grandmother. I have an Honours bachelor’s degree in child development, a bachelor’s degree in education, and a Diploma in Early Childhood Education. I am currently employed with the Toronto District School Board as a teacher.

My journey to becoming a doula began when I started providing postpartum support to families by helping with baby care. Prior to my career in education, I worked as a nanny for over twelve years, which provided me with extensive experience working with families and children. These experiences motivated me to pursue certification as a doula.

I am a passionate, committed, determined, patient, and empathetic individual who deeply cares about the well-being of expecting mothers, parents, and new life coming into the world. My goal is to provide emotional and physical support before, during, and after childbirth. I am dedicated to using my skills, experience, and knowledge to reduce anxiety and create a stress-free and positive environment for mothers, birthing persons, and families.

Growing up as one of 4 children, and me being the oldest, I witnessed how hard it is to be a parent, especially with not a lot of help. This was the main reason I wanted to be that support system for parents. The oldest child naturally takes on a support role and that was an early introduction. It has been a natural transition working as a doula professionally and helping ease the weight that parenting can cause. During my years as a doula I’ve been lucky enough to support several families, helping to integrate a newborn into their home and lives.

I believe that this kind of support is crucial at any point in a child’s (and parent’s) life because it really does take a village to raise smart and healthy children.

I understand that every family is unique, so my approach is to support families with whatever they need in the moment to provide comfort and ease in their parenting journey.

When I’m not working as a doula, I enjoy being outside experiencing new things and travelling to different restaurants or scenic places!

I consider myself to be a compassionate person who strives to help you and your family navigate this new exciting chapter of your lives. I strongly believe it is my mission to help you have not only a positive postpartum journey but to help better assist and equip you with all the right tools for success.

My passion for birth work began 20 years ago after the birth of my eldest son. Due to a series of  events that could have very well crippled me only made me stronger. I was very fortunate to find access to many great regional programs and I met someone who not only poured wisdom into me at a young age but believed I could do great things in this field of work. I will never let my birth trauma define me, rather it has shaped me into who I am today. I am dedicated to providing assistance, support and spreading the message that you are not alone.

My role as your doula is to provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support. I am committed to empowering you to make informed decisions. The postpartum stage isn’t a race, it’s about picking up the little pieces we may lose along the way.

Brittany

Together, we’ll create a space where your voice matters, your choices are respected, and your mental load feels lighter. ’m here to be more than just a doula, I’m here to be like family by your side.

Drawing from my own journey through pregnancy, including an emergency C-section and two VBACs, I deeply understand the diverse paths that childbirth and early motherhood can take. My personal experiences with postpartum anxiety, initial breastfeeding challenges, and the powerful support found within a community of women have shaped my passion for doula work.

Becoming a mother shortly after moving to a new continent, highlighted the crucial role of a strong support network. Years spent nurturing my own children and caring for others have led me to this fulfilling profession, where I can channel my empathy and understanding to support new families.

My background in academic research has equipped me with the skills to diligently seek out and share evidence-based information, empowering you to make informed decisions. As a postpartum doula, I focus on nurturing the emotional well-being of new mothers, offering skilled breastfeeding assistance (informed by my own extensive experience and ongoing training), and providing guidance and support with daytime newborn care. I also offer home and sibling care, tailored to your family’s unique needs, to ease this transition.

I am honoured to provide comprehensive information and unwavering emotional and physical support throughout your experience.

I am currently pursuing certification with Doula School Canada, ensuring I bring the most up-to-date knowledge and skills to my practice.

I am a dedicated postpartum care professional and the founder of the Rhonaflo  Foundation, born from a lifelong passion for improving maternal health outcomes.  My career is rooted in advocacy and hands-on support, but my true “why” is  personal…

In 2015, just three hours after giving birth to my daughter in Toronto, I found myself  alone in a taxi heading to an empty apartment. I sat there Googling “what to do  with a newborn baby.”

Having lived through that profound lack of support, I am fiercely committed to  ensuring no other parent feels that isolated.

I believe the first weeks of life are a sacred time for bonding and recovery. As your  doula, I am a compassionate, highly organized, and non-judgmental ally.  Whether supporting you during physical recovery, optimizing feeding, or providing  “night nanny” care so you can rest, my goal is to empower you. I care about ensuring  you have the mental and physical space to thrive.

It is a privilege to be invited into your home, and I treat that trust with the highest  integrity.

passion for becoming a doula stems from years of supporting individuals during some of the most vulnerable and meaningful moments in their lives.

Worker and Nursing, I have developed a deep appreciation for compassionate, hands-on care, particularly in maternal and newborn health. My experience in the Maternal Child unit, where I performed head-to-toe assessments on newborns, supported breastfeeding, provided postpartum care, and offered emotional reassurance to families, truly inspired me to pursue doula work.

Every birthing person deserves to feel supported, informed, and empowered throughout their journey. I am particularly inspired by the strength, resilience, and love that families bring to their birthing experiences. My clinical background has enhanced my ability to remain calm, present,
and attentive in moments that require both skill and empathy, qualities I bring into every
interaction.

With extensive experience in bedside care, newborn care, vital signs monitoring, postpartum assessment, and emotional support, I aim to combine my medical knowledge with a warm,
grounding presence. As a doula, my goal is to create a safe and comforting environment where families feel seen, heard, and cared for throughout pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum period.

Hi, I’m Natasha, a Certified Postpartum Doula supporting new parents and growing families as they transition into life with a new baby. I’m also a mother of three and an author.

Having experienced birth and navigated my own postpartum recovery, I understand the emotions, anxieties, healing, and everything in between that come with those early weeks. That lived experience, alongside my professional training, is what called me to this path as a doula.

I now focus on helping families feel secure and confident as they navigate the delicate and transformative journey of parenthood. I specialize in supporting women from as early as conception, through pregnancy preparation, birth, and into postpartum recovery, ensuring care feels continuous, nourishing, and steady.

With a Bachelor of Applied Science and certification in mindfulness and women’s wellness, I offer one-to-one consultations for new mothers and engage in community education centered on child development, postnatal and maternal well-being. My approach is calm, warm, grounded and informed, always centered on both mother and baby, recognizing maternal recovery as the foundation for family stability.

When I’m not supporting families, I’m always with my children, baking something new, exploring new places, or deep in meaningful conversation. I believe joy and creativity matter, and that energy naturally shapes the way I care for others.

All of our doulas are certified or in the process of certifying with well-established doula training institutions. They are also CPR certified and have gone through background checks. You can rest assured that you are being supported by qualified and compassionate individuals no matter who you work with!
