Postpartum Doula Care – Daytime

If you’re not familiar with the support that a postpartum doula can provide, think of them as a wonderful helper you didn’t know you needed. Certified postpartum doulas are trained to support new mothers and babies right after delivery.

They can be there for almost anything you need in those early days, including:

  • providing tips and tricks regarding infant care
  • diaper changes
  • holding and soothing your baby
  • handling bath time
  • bottle feeding your baby (if you choose)
  • light household chores
  • providing valuable education and resources
  • and so much more!

They can give you back some time to take a shower, catch up with a friend, or whatever you need to rest and recharge. There really are no words to explain the relief you can feel with just a few hours to yourself in the early days!

Postpartum Doula Care – Nighttime

You aren’t yourself when you aren’t sleeping. Trust us…we know all too well. And newborn sleep patterns are no joke. Having a night doula may very well be the best gift you can give yourself (or others can give to you)!

Whether you’re crying or the baby is, your night doula can provide comfort and support. She can also soothe your baby back to sleep, take care of diaper changes, bottle feeding (if you choose), cleaning and sterilizing bottles and pump parts if needed, and more.

You may wonder how helpful a nighttime doula would be if you are still getting up to breastfeed or pump. However, having a night doula there to bring you the baby or pump and take care of everything else provides you with ample opportunity to still get a good night’s rest!

Lactation Support

Before having children, it may seem that breastfeeding is a natural process that just happens, and yet, it doesn’t come naturally for many women. If you choose to breastfeed, how much and for how long you choose to do so is entirely your choice. We also recognize that some women face challenges during their breastfeeding journey that are not within their control.

At Anamav, our goal is to make sure that you are okay and your baby is well-fed. Period. If breastfeeding is your goal and you are facing some difficulties or need additional support, we want to help! By working with a trained lactation consultant, you can find ways to make breastfeeding a more comfortable and pleasant experience for you and your baby.

Testimonial

"Nancy has been an incredibly supportive friend for over 15 years. As a new mother, I’m constantly looking for tips and advice on how to best take care of my baby and myself. Nancy has been an incredible resource for me because I know she does her research and has the same high standards as me. I trust her advice wholeheartedly, and respect how hard she works for those around her. She’s always had a reputation for being reliable, honest, and understanding. All it takes is one conversation with her, and you’ll see what I mean."
